Halloween Spooktackular Extravaganza .......but also not.

securedownload.jpg picture by shelbykeyser
Tonight, as we awaited All Hallow's Eve (or is today actually All Hallow's Eve?...I'm confused...) we decided it was only appropriate to play a bunch of scary songs. Okay, to be fair, some weren't so scary, but just had the word "zombie," "dead," or "ghost" in the title.

We also decided, as is customary on this fine day, since there were no treats to be had, we would trick! So we perused Craigslist and found ourselves a fellow named Tim. Tim was disillusioned with the "indie scene" and looking for a lady to be his trick. He was a bit skeptical of us and wouldn't call in, but hopefully he'll be our guest next week.

Tim, don't be so shy baby.......

Our mics fucking blew my ears out, so I can't hear.
But apparently we played these songs. Not that I heard them:

The Cramps - Goo Goo Muck
Classic IV - Spooky
Magnetic Fields - Zombie Boy
The Pixies - Ed is Dead
Future Bible Heroes - I Am A Vampire
Magnetic Fields - Dead Only Quickly Decay
The Descendents - Jean is Dead
Shonen Knife - I Am A Cat
Love As Laughter - I Am A Ghost
999 - Homicide
Blondie - Attack of The Giant Ants
Brian Jonestown Massacre - When Jokers Attack
The Damned - Ballroom Blitz
ELO - Strange Magic
Jermaine Stewart - We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off
Os Mutantes - O Suicida

Now, I SWEAR to you, the loyal and fine person who reads this blog thing, so help me Jebus, NEXT WEEK: GUEST. We are making it happen. No more bullshittin' around.

Feel free to download us on the ole archive too.

A Ship Without a Rudder

Our guest, Rick Florence, bailed out on us last minute. Don't sweat it Rick, it's cool. (He really loves sports.)

So Courtney and I ended up getting all bummed out and blue whilst reminiscing about the most heart wrenching thing a man has ever done to us. (Like stand us up when we have a RADIO SHOW TO DO. Rick, again, no biggie.) We then made ourselves feel better (or worse?) by popping open a bottle of vino and thinking about the most horrible thing we've ever done to a boy....Ahh, yes.......Then playing songs to accompany these memories......

The show really couldn't have been more of a downer. Except we also talked about weird shit we do when we are alone. Like Courtney eats in her undies and spills shit all over her naked self - GROSS!!! Me, personally, I just enjoy a nice brushing of the teeth in the morning while I take a pee. What?!?!?

So now for the stats:

Edwyn Collins & Orange Juice - Rip It Up
Sea & Cake - Sound & Vision
Uncle Tupelo - New Madrid
R.E.M. - Country Feedback (i was tearing up right around this point)
Apples In Stereo - Better Days
Elvis Costello & the Attractions - You'll Never Be a Man
John Frusciante - The First Season (started to weep)
The Smiths - Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want (dry heaving)
She & Him - Take It Back
Lemonheads - Rudderless (pulling myself back together despite Courtney's laughter)

So, see folks, the show takes you on a roller coaster of emotions - every week. From manic highs, to Prozac-popping lows. Come with!

Drinking with Them - THURSDAY 9pm - 11pm PST
*you can stream our show from the archives too*

Face Diaper
We could've used a couple of these last night.

I can barely type because I'm so emotionally drained from this week.

Howard Stern got married last week and he has been talking about it non-fucking-stop. Who does that? So we decided to chime in. Despite the fact that it's been like a knife through our hearts, we've decided that if this union makes him happy, then it makes us hap...hap...hap..... can't type it. We'll get there. Eventually.

The image “” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

In between having diarrhea of the mouth, we talked worst jobs and ditching out on them.
We also managed to play some tunes:

Love - Alone Again
Some bullshit mystery song that neither of us knew
Wreckless Eric - Reconnez Cherie
Aaron Neville - Everyday
OMD - Dreaming
Jennifer Gentle - I Do Dream You
Cindy Lauper - Good Enough
Elton John - I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues
Guided By Voices - Hot Freaks
Guided By Voices - I Am A Scientist
The Ramones - Do Ya Wanna Dance
Jackson 5 - Baby Give Me One More Chance
Shonen Knife - Bear Up Bison
Dinosaur Jr. - Boy With a Thorn In His Side

Next week we'll have a guest, so you won't have to hear our drivel.
Drinking with "Them"
THURSDAY 9pm - 11pm babbbyyyyyyyy..............

Our First Time...

Well, like most first times, it was awkward and uncomfortable. There were lots of false starts and a premature finish. (Thankfully, no bleeding.)

Our set list was the following:

Magnetic Fields (intro) - She-Devils From the Deep
Dr. Dog - Say Something
John Lennon - Whatever Gets You Through The Night
Salt-n-Pepa - Push It
Pixies - ?
Sinead O'Connor - Nothing Compares 2 U
Roy Orbison - Dream Baby
Wet Paint - ?
Bad Brains - I and I Survive
Roxy Music - More Than This (this is my jam)

and...a bunch of other shit that I can't recall at this moment. So from now on, just listen!

THURSDAYS 9pm - 11pm
DRINKING WITH THEM ("THEM" being Shelby & Courtney)
